When a person practices empathy for so long, it becomes part of you. No longer do you try to put your self in another persons position in life. You literally become a part of it.
A friend has cancer, I can feel the fear. A family member dies, a part of me dies with them.
The bright side is it’s not always pain. Share their joy, experience the laughter and be there for the good and the bad. Show up – all the time.
