Elizabeth Jane Clevenstine, 73

February 06, 2020

On Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Lancashire Hall, Elizabeth Jane (Downs) Clevenstine, 73, formerly of East Lampeter Township, went to rest. There she will stay until Jesus Christ her LORD and Savior returns, as promised. He will blow the trumpet and the saved will meet HIM in the air and those still living on the earth that had accepted HIM as their Lord and Savior will also rise and meet Him in the air. They will all be together for eternity. Oh, PLEASE BE READY. If you have not met HIM as your Savior, PLEASE call on HIM. If you need help, seek a BIBLE teaching Pastor, relative or neighbor.

Jane was born in Coatesville to the late Robert William Downs and Frances Helen (Settle) Downs Walraven.

She graduated from S. Horace Scott High School, Coatesville, Class of 1964. Devoted to helping others, Jane was a caregiver for Friendship Community in Lititz for over 15 years.

Jane loved Jesus and passed her love of Him to her daughter Dawn. She attended Willow Street Mennonite Church. Jane was very proud of her children and grandchildren, she loved them dearly, and she enjoyed time spent as a family. She was very unassuming and comfortable in her own skin. She enjoyed reading, sewing walking and gardening, and was known to pull weeds at Lancashire Hall.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Dawn M., wife of Thomas D. DelRocini of Lancaster, her son Rick A. Donnelly, husband of Shelby, of Ephrata; three grandchildren, Christian T. DelRocini, Caleb D. DelRocini and Mariah DelRocini; as well as her three sisters, Ann, wife of George Flear, Kathy wife of Scott Yerger, and Rosalie, wife of the late William Nicholson.

Following Jane’s wishes, a graveside service will take place 2 PM Thursday, February, 13, 2020, with Pastor Vernon Myers officiating, at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, 11 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA 17602. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a contribution in Jane’s memory to Compassus Hospice, 2101 Oregon Pike, Suite 301, Lancaster, PA 17601.

Condolences to the Family

April 19, 2021

I am sorry to hear of Jane’s passing.  I worked with Jane in the early 80’s at Pepperidge Farms in Downingtown. I was just out of high school and Jane would offer pearls of advise. She worked hard and loved her family very much. She was always kind and positive. Jane reminded me a lot of my mother. Jane wrote a Bible verse, II Corinthians 6:14 on the back of a voided check and gave this to me one evening when I needed guidance. Over the years I have pulled it out of my worn Bible to read it over again and again and think of Jane. Tonight I did again. I’d hoped when I searched online that she could be contacted so I might share this with her only to discover I’ve waited too long. I’ll continue to think of her and pray for the family she loved so much. Her words and advise still ring in my ears. God bless Jane for being His messenger.

Tears of joy as Jane accepts her reward for being a faithful servant.  She was an encourager and a blessing to me as we shared our faith with each other.  She truly knew how to find joy in her circumstances and has passed the mantle onto her family.  Jane’s families’ testimonies are part of her reward too.  Continue walking with Him in our Hope too.  Love, Judy Hawryluk
