Eugene L. Cullen, 66

Eugene L. Cullen, 66, of Willow Street, PA, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at his residence.

He was the husband of Patricia Garvin Cullen, with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage this past March 9th. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Milton and Josephine Lambert Cullen.

Gene had worked for PECO for 25 years, where he was known as “The General”. He served as a foreman at the Peach Bottom and Conowingo power plants, retiring from PECO in 1995..

He was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church.

Gene was a US Navy veteran, serving with the Seebees during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Southern Lancaster County Sportsmans Assn., was an accomplished woodworker, loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining, especially his large family picnics, but his favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his 5 children: Michael R. married to Jennifer Long of Churchville, PA, Eugene K. married to Wendy Cullen of Lancaster, Kevin J. married to Cathy Long and Stephen C. married to Amanda Long, both of Philadelphia, and Danielle L. Cullen of Lancaster; his 10 grandchildren, and his sister Jodie Koehler of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Cullen.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 23, 2011 from 10-1130AM at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1130AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Gene’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, and Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
