Condolences to the Family

I knew Tom in the early 1960’s. Tom was a young father back then. He entertained me with stories of raising his children. Tom was my mentor and advisor as young engineer. He was there to see me off when I went off to Viet Nam. Twenty years later we were reunited at RCA labs and renewed our old friendship. The years passed again, he retired and I lost track of him this time forever it seems. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. Tom was the most memorable person I ever met.

I often think of Tom. We worked together at Gulton Industries. Tom was my mentor. I remember when his kids were born and he was a young father living in North Branch.  He said he would pray for me when I was drafted and sent to Nam. Thirty years passed and we met again at RCA Labs in Princeton. Once again we were working together. I remember how heartbroken he was when his daughter Naureen died. Then Tom retired and I moved on to teaching at Swarthmore. I’m sure he is missed very much by his family. Tonight as I was remembering him , I found this notice. It saddened me to learn at this late date. Tom led a full good life. I hope his suffering was minimal. Rest in peace old buddy.

Tom touched my life in many ways and has had a major contribution as to who I am. He and his family were a major cornerstone in the lives of the entire village.  Scott and I spent many hours watching and trying to help him build an old Ford, a Jeep or a boat. He gave me the Ford with no body on it and after sitting in our barn for some time Ridgeway and I spent hours trying to get it going.  Its a good thing we wrecked once we got it going  because we probably would have ended up killing ourselves in it..   I.m not good at this sort of thing but I want you to know that he touched my life…..

Dearest Eileen:
I am saddened for you of the loss of Tom.  I know that you were there at the end and he knew it.
I pray for your strength to go on.  As a former nurse (I think) you have the capabilities to help others knowing what you had to go through with Tom.
I am sorry that I am not closer to you to comfort you.
Love
Nancy Bell

Mr. Curran was a great man and touched so many people in his time on this earth. From the cable car to "the Island" to the model planes on a string, to the speedboat on the flooded river, I count precious memories of my childhood in South Branch. Heaven’s playground has gained a wonderful new child, may we all stay so young at heart. Please accept my deepest condolences, Mrs. Curran and family.

Our hearts go out to you Eileen and family on hearing of Tom’s passing. You are mentioned often and will continue to be in my family prayers. He was a wonderful and very spiritual man who knew Our Lord well. May his soul rest in greener pastures with the Lord by His side.  My mother told me of Tom’s obituary in the newspaper back home. I live with my brother in Ft Lauderdale, Fl. God Bless you and your family in this very difficult time.
Your friend always, Joseph Pampani, Marie Pampani, and family.

Very saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. I have great memories of him helping me when I was a kid. He would always weld pieces on my bicycle as they broke.
He was like a big brother. I am very sorry for the family and know I will be thinking of you all……
