Dearest Shirley,
We are so sadden to hear of Mike’s passing. It is hard to understand how these things happen. We are so glad you are surrounded by your children and their families to help you through the next stages. We pray that the hole in your heart will soon be filled with warm memories and stories of happier days. We all watched a lot of high school football games together. At one of those games, Dan recalled learning from Mike that the Cleveland Browns were being sold. Given that he and Mike shared a Steelers/Browns rivalry, Dan assumed he was joking. He recalls that Mike got a real kick out of his skepticism.
His laughter will live on.
Sincerely,
Dan and Cathy Kraft

Hi Shirley,
My wife Edie and send our sympathy. Remembering our days at Perry, I appreciated Mike’s friendship. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15. May God hold you in his loving arms and comfort you.

Shirley, Carol (Meisinger) Meeder let me know of Mike’s passing. I’m sorry that this inevitable loss and sadness has such a painfully sharp point of reality right now. And so, I am encouraged to read of Mike’s extreme devotion to “his family and his Christian faith.” As recent memory fades with older age, 50+ year old images of Perry High School friends and classmates stay ‘Clariton’ clear in my head. A heartening reminder of God’s purpose unfolding throughout the years of our lives.  My sympathy to you and your family,  Bruce Schlenke

Shirley, Nicole and Ryan:
My deepest condolences to all of you.  I knew Mike a long time, back to grade school at Clayton with our boyish sports competitions in the playground.  Then on to junior high and then Perry High School.  We were teamates on the North Side Celtics basketball team(driving to games in “Coops” station wagon) and then in High School.  We “hung out” and visited our school friends together and created issues as we went along.
I will miss Mike, and our long conversations about the past and our policital views.  Even though Mike lived outside of the Pittsburgh area, he always had comments about the Pittsburgh Sports teams.  In the recent years I always enjoyed visiting him in Elizabethtown to have lunch and talk about our families and the old times.
I will never forget Mike and his wonderful family.  He talked about them always.  God speed Mike and I hope the reunion with your parents and brother Pat is a joyous occasion.

Our deepest condolences to all!  Mike will be remembered for a long long time. I was privileged to work with and for him many years ago. I am glad we stayed in touch. We had many long phone conversations over the past several years and I’m going to miss those. Blessings to Shirley, Ryan and Nicole and your families!

Steve and I want to express our sympathy for your loss of husband and father.  We know that one of the few condolences is that you would not have wanted him to suffer any longer and for that we are all grateful.  We will keep you in our prayers to help you through this difficult time.
