Joan B. Draper, 81

Joan B. Deaner Draper, 81, of St. Anne’s Retirement Community, died Sunday, October 1, 2006. 

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William Charles and Edna Bonham Deaner. She was the widow of Newman Draper who died in 2003.  

Mrs. Draper worked for Armstrong World Industries for 35 years. She was a member of Zion Church, Millersville. She loved to read, travel and cook. 

Surviving her is her stepchildren, Barbara J. Szablowski of Reading, and Steven, married to Brenda of Manheim, 5 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren, a brother, John Milton, married to A. Marianne Redcay Deaner of Millersville, a sister-in-law, Virginia Fischer Deaner of Lancaster, 4 nieces and a nephew.  

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene William and Dean Donald Deaner. 

Graveside services will be held at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Millersville, on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anne’s Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 or a charity of one’s choice.
