Lucille “Lucy” Dyer

Lucille “Lucy” (Hagy) Dyer went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 24, 2011.  She was the wife of John Richard “Dick” Dyer of Lancaster.  She was the daughter of the late Lester and Esther (Espenschade) Hagy.

She graduated from Ephrata High School in 1951.  Before moving to Lancaster, she lived in Ephrata for 48 years, where she raised her children.  She worked at the Foodergong Restaurant for 10 years, and then she worked at Gimbels at Park City.  She is a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Landisville.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Jeff Pierce, husband of Kim Ellgen, of Lititz and Bruce Pierce, husband of Chris Daggett of Manheim; two daughters: Bonnie Ritzman, wife of Ed, of Rochester, NY and Barbie Camp, wife of Brian, of Minneola, FL; and a step-daughter, Lisa, of Lancaster.  She has seven grandchildren: Chad Pierce, Josh Pierce, Sean Pierce, Ashley Pierce, Matthew Camp, Melanie Ritzman and Andrew Ritzman; and two step-grandchildren.  She has 2 great-grandchildren: Emma Camp and Conner Pierce.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Holcombe, who passed away in 1986; and a brother, Lester Hagy, Jr, who passed away in 2010.

  I open the newspaper this morning, to read of your mother’s passing. I’m sure it is good to know she is at peace and resting in the arms of our Lord.
I also know she will be greatly missed but the memorys in your hearts will be there to treasure. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family.

To Mr Dyer and family,Lucy was a great person with a great personality,everytime I saw her she had a smile on her face,even in her last few days with us,I am glad I  that I had gotten to see her,before she had gone onto heaven,you will be missed Lucy..
