Edward James Felter, 83
Edward James Felter, 83, of Akron passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Sheppton, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Tessible Hauser Felter.
He was married for 46 years to the former Alice Ansbach who died in 1994. He was retired from Hamilton Equipment, where he worked as an accountant. After his retirement, he worked for G. E. Richards and Sara’s Motor Express. He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Ephrata and served on the consistory earlier in life.
He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII on the USS Rankin.
Ed enjoyed history, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son William Felter husband of Ann and grandsons: Nicholas and Patrick Felter all of Lititz. In addition, he is survived by granddaughters, Gwen and Sarah Felter and a great grandson, Jimmy, all of Wernersville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Felter and two brothers: Ralph and Garth Felter.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 10:30AM with the Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. We were so sorry to hear about your Dad. Please accept our condolences. Our parents were always such good friends from the time they were young, getting to know each other because of Glenn and Steve, continuing that friendship into their later years. Your parents were great people to visit , both always had a smile for you. They will both be missed.
