To the family of Liz Ford, I was fortunate to meet Liz shortly after we moved to Lancaster.  She and I traveled to and from our from our homes to MSU.  I lealrned a great deal from Liz about Lancaster that wasn’t carried in the textbooks or in the current news media.
As our professional lives moved on differessnt roads, we lost contact.  However several years later, we met up again in DC.  Liz worked for the NAtional Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and I worked for the National Board of the YWCA of the USA.  She was a good friend and soounding board for me as we continued in our careers.
I am so sorry that I am unable to attend the Going Home for Liz because of my own health needs.  I know she loved her family greatly and leaves much good to them,  Lancaster, and to early childchild education  than will ever know it, and to me.
Sincerely, Rhea Starr

I will miss you my dearest friend. I am grateful God allowed our paths to cross and for such a blessed freindship. I will always remember your million dollar smile and laugh. You always had a way to cheer me up during your times of adversity . You touched the hearts and minds of so many people during your courageous fight with cancer and always hopeful and upbeat. Love you my friend. Our loss is heaven’s gain.

I was so sorry to hear of Elizabeth’s passing. She was the sweetest lady I knew. Her pain is gone, and we are left to deal with sorrow. I offer my deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time. Know that God loves you and can restore your spirits, give you peace, and strengthen you. May our prayers guide her soul to our Heavenly Father. Elizabeth will be missed by everyone who knew her.

I met Elizabeth many years ago – actually as she was trudging up a hill and I offered her a ride.  She and I occasionally connected after that.  I always liked her so much.  (She was also a friend of my friend Laura Whitted.)  Her contributions and service to Bright Side and the 7th Ward Oral Project will “ripple” for many years.   Tanya West
