Lorna Katherine Frey
Lorna Katherine Smith Frey, of Lancaster, PA, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2008. Preceding Lorna in death is her son, Dennis, her parents James Smith and Helen M. Long.
Lorna was a unique and colorful person who made the most of her life and God-given gifts. Her love for people and The Lord sustained her through years of health challenges, yet when her time came, she was ready.
Especially cherished by her husband, Earl C. Frey, Lorna was a devoted and loving wife. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 24, 2007. A granddaughter of local artist Earle P. Pfoutz, Lorna shared his artistic gifts by painting expressively as she was lead, leaving behind a vast collection of works to be enjoyed by her family. After graduation, she attended the Lancaster School of Arts. Over the years, she worked as an interior decorator for Good’s Furniture and as a homemaker for her family. Lorna enjoyed spending time doing various activities such as bowling, painting, artistic crafts, and her dog-Madison. Most of all she cherished being a wife, mother, and grammy to her family. 13 years ago she became the recipient of a liver transplant and now she will return the favor of being a donor to someone needing to receive the gift of sight.
Surviving in addition to her husband is Jeffrey E. Frey of Lancaster, Denise Luree Frey Yoder married to Darl Yoder of Leola, PA, and Jerald A. Frey husband of Jennifer Mull Frey of Lancaster, PA; 12 grandchildren: Shannon, Justin, Kearston, Mariah, Jordan, Kelsey, Brandon, Derek, Brittne, Alexis, Katie, and Abby, and 7 great grandchildren.
Lorna’s Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at The Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Monday March 10, 2008 from 6to8PM followed by the Funeral on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 10AM.
