Ricky Haley, 64

March 12, 1959 - June 14, 2023

Ricky Ray Haley passed away on June 14, 2023 while he was in Lancaster, PA and away from his home in Silver Spring, MD. He was born on March 12, 1959 in Corpus Christi, TX to Leo Haley Jr. and Delia (Delgado) Haley. He is survived by his wife, of over 37 years, Terry (Doong) Haley; his daughter Erika Haley; his brothers Mark (Michelle) Haley of Ambler, PA and Michael Haley of Levittown, PA; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Rick spent his teen years growing up in Philadelphia. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School PA in 1977 and then moved to Washington DC where he got a job coding software. Throughout the next few years, Rick worked for several computer and software development companies as he gained knowledge and experience in this field and expanded his opportunities. He met his wife, Terry, while working for Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). They married in 1986. Their beloved daughter, Erika, was born in 1989.

In 1992, Rick joined the federal government’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Because of his military-related upbringing (his dad was a career enlisted service member in the Navy), Rick was a very patriotic person with great love for his country and respect for the U.S. armed forces and the work of government employees. He joined the federal government because he wanted a chance to help make a positive impact and difference on his own life and the lives of those around him. Rick was a respected leader in DIA’s IT application contract space.

Rick will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral service for Ricky will be held on July 18, 2023 at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD, beginning at 11:00.
