Jack Rickey Harmon, 5

Jack Rickey Harmon, 5, of Lancaster died of cancer on Tuesday at his residence.  He was under the care of Hospice.  Born in Lancaster on November 16, 2000, he was the son of Thomas Michael and Rachael Townsley Harmon of Lancaster.

A member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, he was confirmed by Bishop Kevin Rhoades on January 8th, 2006.  He received his First Holy Communion on March 13, 2006 from Father Lawrence Coakley.  He loved playing trains, Thomas the Tank Engine movies, jumping in a warm load of laundry and dancing to Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon”.  He also enjoyed playing hide and seek with his siblings and cousins, going to the beach, road trips and spaghetti and meatballs.

Besides his parents he will also be lovingly missed by his two sisters; Erin and Megan both at home; one brother, Greg also at home; maternal grandparents, Jimmie Townsley of Giltner, NE and Jo-Ann and Ben Bennett of Winter Springs, FL; paternal aunts/uncles; Carole Harmon of Atmore, AL; Jane and Ed Lukowski of Landenburg; Judy Adamson of Newark, DE; Rick and Amy Harmon of Las Vegas, NV; Chip and Jo-Ellen Ames of Mt. Joy; maternal aunts/uncles; René and Brian Bahrenfuss of Fayetteville, NC; Rebecca and John Henry Praught of Wake Forest, NC; William Becker of CA; cousins; Nathaniel, Sarah, Benjamin, Joshua, Jason, Jordana and Kirstin.

Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Elizabeth Harmon, and a paternal uncle, Bill Harmon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster on Saturday at 11:00am.  Friends may call at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Friday evening from 7:00pm until 9:00pm and again at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30am until 10:30am.  Interment in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to The Four Diamonds Fund, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
