Robert Charles Heaps, 93

Robert Charles Heaps, 93, of Lititz, PA and formerly of Bloomsburg, PA, passed on Monday, April 27th at the Luther Acres Nursing Home, in Lititz, PA where he had been a resident of the Luther Acres Retirement Community since 2011. He was born March 3, 1927 in Berwick, a son of the late Sheridan and Edith (Bath) Heaps.
Robert was a World War II Veteran and served in the Navy. He worked for Magee Carpet Company in Bloomsburg for 47 years and was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors and found great pride in raising his daughter Faith. He was member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bloomsburg and served as a deacon of the Church for many years prior to moving to Lititz. Robert loved dogs and instilled this in his daughter Faith who has been involved in Professional Show Dogs for many years and has presented many Westminster Kennel Club Champions.
Surviving Robert are his only child and daughter Faith Ott, who lives on Fripp Island, SC with her husband Bill, his niece Bonnie Cheeka, who was like a daughter to him, and his sister Gayann Strausser and her husband Thomas of New York, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held sometime this summer at the Luther Acres Retirement Community in Lititz. He will be laid to rest at Elan Memorial Park in Lime Ridge.

Dear Faith,
Bob was such a good friend to our Dad, John Smith, and to us. His smile always lit up the room with a “twinkle”! And there was always a good story to hear. We share in your loss and will really miss Bob!

I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. John and I so ejoyed getting to know Bob at Luther Acre. Bob was always so kind and patient with John when they both were in Healthcare. you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Sorry For your loss Faith. I think He came to my Stepfathers funeral. Maybe the last time I saw him. I lost track of him after that Hope you are doing well.
