Richard D. Hedge
Richard D. Hedge71, of Lititz died Sunday at Conestoga View. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and Grace Brown Hedge.
Richard was married to Barbara Monez Hedge for 50 years. Mr. Hedge was a train conductor for 3 years and then a train engineer for 18 years with the NYC Transit Authority and retired in 1991. He was a top ranking weightlifter and body builder in New York State for many years and taught his gift to less fortunate people. Mr. Hedge was an avid baseball fan, especially for the New York Mets. He often played baseball with his children and was briefly on a team representing the New York Transit Authority.
Surviving besides his wife are five sons: Joseph husband of Cathy, Richard husband of Joanne, George husband of Karen, Bobby husband of Celena, Steven husband of Marilyn, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, Pa. on Saturday at 3:00pm. A viewing will be held from 2:00-3:00pm at the funeral home on Saturday.
