Mary C. Heisey, 78
Mary C. Heisey, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2006. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William and Magadelen Reichert Bleecher. She was the wife of the late James E. Heisey.
A homemaker, she was also a dance instructor at Arthur Murray, and very active in American Legion Post #34. She held the position of banquet manager, President of the American Legion Chester County District, and during the late 1980’s into the 1990’s she served as Post #34 Auxiliary President. A 1946 Lancaster Catholic High School graduate, she later served on the school’s board from 1995-2001.
Mary was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the Hubley Club, and AMVETS. She loved the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State Football.
She is survived by sons, Bruce P. Heisey of Lancaster; Thomas E. married to Lynn Heisey of Mountville; a daughter, Theresa M. married to Randy Wilson of Willow Street; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; brothers, William Bleecher of East Petersburg; Robert married to Jean Bleecher of Mountville; James Bleecher of Lancaster; sisters, Bernice married to Martin White of Lancaster; and Adele married to David Houseal of Maytown. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Heisey; and a sister, Rosemarie Bleecher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, at 11AM. Interment in St. Anthony’s Catholic Catholic Cemetery. Friends may attend the viewing at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, Inc., 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Tuesday from 7-9PM. Friends will also be received at the church on Wednesday morning from 10-10:50AM.
