William E. “Will” Helmick, Jr., 49
William “Will” E. Helmick Jr., 49, of Lititz, died unexpectedly from natural causes at home on Friday, May 11, 2012.
Born August 7, 1962, he was the son of William E. and Linda (Firestone) Helmick, of Lititz. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley A. Ritter, Glen Burnie, MD.
Will is survived by two daughters; Abbey Helmick, of Lebanon and Shelby Helmick, of Lititz; granddaughter, Tianna Helmick, of Lebanon; two sisters, Diana Lynn Black, of Lancaster and Sherry, wife of Robert Davis, of Leola; three brothers, Tony Helmick, husband of Justine (Ritzman), of Centerville, Gregory Helmick, partner to Robin Crouse, Ephrata, and Elvis Budd Helmick, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He adored his furry friends Billy, Emmy, Sassy and numerous that have passed including Smokey, Pepsi, and Baby.
He attended J. P. McCaskey High School. Over the years Will has worked for Whitmoyer Chevrolet, Lancaster Malleable Castings, Simon Ladder, Lancaster Parking Authority, and several Auto Detailing Centers, including his own business, Red Rose Detailing.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family, all who would agree that Will loved to make others smile with his humor and special stories. Will was a devoted Cowboys fan – how about them Cowboys!!
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Joe Rager who Will spoke of frequently. Joe was like a brother/father/mentor/close friend all rolled into one – may we all be blessed with such a friend.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A viewing will be held Thursday night, May 17, 2012 from 7-9:00PM at the funeral home and on Friday May 18, 2012 from 10-11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lititz Springs Park, P. O. Box 110, Lititz, PA 17543 (please specify for William Helmick, Jr). A bench bearing Will’s name will be placed in the park. A man of many trades my heart goes out to your family and friends. You were the WORLD WILL ,you and your summertime stories whether people believed you or not you still told them. Only you knew Will but we really did too:) You will be missed deeply. I’m gonna miss the games this year with out you here to call and say "How ’bout them BOY’S"….or "what time is the Game"??
