Jon F. Henrich, 73

Jon F. Henrich, 73, passed away on July 27, 2012 at Ephrata Manor after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Bloom) Henrich.  He was preceded in death by brothers: Charles, Francis and Donald.  He was the last of his immediate family.

Jon is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Bonnie L. (Pittington) Henrich; a daughter: Theresa P. Fackler, wife of Chuck; a granddaughter: Allyssa R. Cox; a cousin: Greg Henrich, husband of Carol A.; mother of Theresa: Carol D. Henrich; nephews and nieces: Robert, Mike, Chuck and the late John S. Henrich, Tracy, Kim, Paula, Frank, Donald and Michelle.

A graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, he attained certificates in Labor Relations from Atioke College, Cornell University, Millersville University and Penn State.

A veteran of the US Air Force, he was an Air Crew member and participated in the 1957 invasion of Beirut, the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam.

Jon was elected to two terms as President/Financial Secretary of IBEW Local 1600, and was appointed an International Representative to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1989.  He negotiated contracts with most major Utility Companies in PA, NJ, NY and DE.  He served in various Labor/Management positions in the Third District of the IBEW.

Jon retired in 1995 from PPL as a Lineman Leader and from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as an International Representative in 2002.

A Memorial Service will be held at 8 PM on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17545 with Elder Joe Bernotsky officiating and military honors rendered by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.  Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.  Please OMIT flowers.  Contributions can be made in Jon’s memory to the Ephrata Cancer Center, 460 North Reading Road, Ephrata, PA 17522.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com. As Business Manager for IBEW Local 210 in Atlantic City NJ I worked with Jon on many issues and he always new what to say or do to resolve a problem.
