Clarence Herr, 84
Clarence Herr, 84, of 2720 Main Street, Conestoga died Thursday, July 30,2009 of natural causes at Conestoga View.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Irene Delores Booth Herr, a daughter Patricia Simmons, a brother Edgar C. Herr and a sister, Phyllis A. Young.
Clarence was born April 26, 1925 in Lancaster, PA. He was the son of the late Clarence S. Herr and the late Clara W. Shellenberger Herr.
For most of his life he owned and operated an auto body shop in Conestoga.
He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and restoring old cars.
He is survived by two daughters: C. Marie married to Kenneth Yake of Conestoga, Mary L. married to Thomas Strubel of Mount Joy, four sons: Clarence E. Herr married to Cheryl A. Kauffman Herr of Conestoga, Lawrence L. Herr married to Cynthia A. Heiland Herr of Conestoga, Jay L. Herr married to Stephanie Morrison Herr of Columbia, and Robert J. Herr of Conestoga, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, a sister: Marion Lefever, Lancaster and a brother: Daniel husband Betty Jo Rhoads Herr, N.Y.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, Pa on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 6:00PM with the Rev. Stephen Cote officiating. A calling time will be held from 4-6:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Clarence’s memory to Conestoga View, 900 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa 17602.
