Carol M. Herr, 78

February 08, 2022

Carol Mumma Herr, 78, of Leola, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Pleasant View Retirement Community.

She was the wife of L. Ronald Herr with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Jane (Tschudy) Mumma. She was a proud graduate of Columbia High School.

Carol had been a homemaker, and in years past, had worked as an administrative assistant at Armstrong World Industries. She enjoyed reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, playing dominoes or cards with family and friends, and watching sports (especially the Phillies). She also loved attending her children’s sporting events and other activities when they were younger and spoiling her grandchildren with treats, especially Oreos. Although she didn’t care for technology, Carol proudly watched her grandchildren’s sports and activities via streaming.

In addition to her husband Ron, she is survived by her son, Ronald M. married to Marisa (Stoner) Herr of East Petersburg; her daughter, Deborah married to James Moore of Davie, FL; her three grandchildren, Sam, Alexa, and Julia Moore; and her sister, Kay married to Gregory Kane of Washington Boro. Carol was preceded in death by her brother, H. James married to Annie Mumma of Fayetteville.

Carol’s family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant View Retirement Community for the excellent care they provided Carol.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Carol’s memory to the Columbia Education Foundation, Box 548, Columbia, PA 17512. To send a condolence to her family, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.

Ron,
We were so sorry to hear today of Carol’s passing.  We know you will miss her terribly.  We have many fond memories of what we called “The Lancaster Group” many years ago.  We had such fun at the picnics and other trips we took together with our children.  So glad we were able to see you and Carol on our last trip north before the Pandemic hit.  Take care of yourself!  Love, Jim & Judy Kaufman

Ronnie and Marissa,  I am so sorry to read about your mother’s passing.  I always thought  her to be a caring  loving mother who cared about her  children’s education.  She was always inrerwested in what you were doing in school.  In fact when you were in high school she worked with my husband to help you get a Masonic  Schlolarship..Know that       i am thinking of you both.  Your  First  Grade  Teacher  ( Yes  I had both  of you)

Ron, I was very sorry to learn of Carol’s passing.  I have good memories of having season seats in front of you and Carol at CV football games when our kids were in high school.  Carol was one of the most enthusiastic CV fans on the bleachers.
