God bless the Hess family at this time. Im sorry for this loss.Joyce was a great boss, and a even better person! i always knew that Joyce had a big heart,as did everybody. My favorite story that she shared with me was her pride in being able to sow tobacco seeds with both hands as a girl on her dads farm. She told me that with  enthusiasm. I thought it was a great thing to share for a person in her postion. She knew who she was,and was comfortable with it.Gone to soon, and certainly will be greatly missed!

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. The last I saw Joyce was at Brent Millers and I got a big hug from her and she had a really cute hair cut. I will always remember that and we talked about getting together. We certainly all should appreciate each day God gives us. All my love to all. Aunt Jean

Dear Jerry, Jen, Wanda and Thelma,
When Joyce and Jerry first moved to Southern Village, our realtor told me that Joyce and I would be good friends.   She was so right.   I liked Joyce from our first meeting, and we went on to share over 10 years of shopping trips, girl’s days out, breakfast and dinners with our husbands, playing cards, enjoying her delicious dinners and gracious hosting.   We gardened together, and I learned so much from her.   She was so good at chosing the right plants, and then making them into a gorgeous display.   Her home was a true reflection of her love for antiques, and her ability to arrange them perfectly.   Joyce loved her family fiercly, Jerry, her soulmate; Jen, her dedicated daughter; Wanda her best friend and sister.   The grandchildren meant so much to her, and she was so proud of their accomplishments.   And the days she could open her home to her great grandchildren made her beyond happy.
We will miss you always Joyce, but we will certainly always be there for Jerry.   Rest in Peace my very dear friend, we will meet again.

My deepest condolences. Thank you Joyce for taking a chance with me, and enabling me to make my career my passion. I will always remember you as the most patient, helpful and professional manager, mentor and friend anyone could ask for. I would not be where I am today without your influence.

Jerry and Family – Please know you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you have felt the peace and comfort from so many people lifting your family in prayer.  Joyce will always be remembered with fond memories of our travels to the many branch locations throughout PA and all the wonderful conversations about so many different topics.  During this time, Joyce learned that I loved antique glass ornaments, and soon presented me with a special gift of beautiful ornaments she found during a shopping trip.  I think of her each Christmas as I add them to my tree.   She was a kind, caring and wonderful person, I’m so glad she was a friend and mentor!

Dear Jerry and family,
Joyce was one of my best friends all through school.  I remember many days at her home playing and getting into trouble.  Her birthday was the day before mine.  She will be missed greatly!

My thoughts and prayers are with Joyce’s family. Know that she was very much respected. She hired me at SYD. I miss her stopping into the branch. She always had a smile and positive attitude. I will always fondly remember her.

My deepest sympathies to the family at this very difficult time. Joyce was one of the most admired, respected and intelligent person that I have ever met. She was a mentor to so many.
My time spent with Joyce was very limited, however, it will be treasured forever. She welcomed me to SYD like nothing I have ever experienced before. I am deeply saddened by her death.
Forever in my thoughts, Rest in Peace Joyce.

Jerry and family, my deepest sympathy. Joyce was one of the most sincere, thoughtful people person I’ve ever met. She made my transition into Schaedler Yesco easier than anybody. She was always easy to talk to and know that you were going to get an answer from someone who cared. I was happy for her when she retired and also sad that I wouldn’t see her around the building. She always had a smile and time for you no matter the situation. My Deepest sympathy, she will be missed in her other home branch in Pittsburgh.
