James J. High, 89
James J. High, 89, of 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, died Friday, November 2nd at his residence.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Seeman High, who died in 2004. Born in Philadelphia, James was the son of the late Pearson M. and Ella Chelius High.
He had worked as an instrument engineer for the FMC Corp. in Philadelphia for 30 years, and also at the Stone and Webster Corp in Cherry Hill NJ for 5 years, retiring in 1986.
James was member of the Santa Maria Council 1443 of the Knights of Columbus in Haddon Heights, NJ, and was a senior member of the Instrument Society of America.
Graduating in 1942 from Drexel University, he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and became a professional engineer, licensed in PA and Delaware.
James was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, and was former member of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Westmont, NJ.
He is survived by his son-in-law, Kenneth C. Ostberg, husband of Eileen, of Manheim, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha A. Ostberg.
