Charles Hili, 83

November 01, 2017

Charles Hili, 83, of Millersville and formerly of Queens, NY, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. He was born in Nadur, Gozo, Malta to the late Joseph and Mary Antonia (Xicluna) Hili. Charles enjoyed 58 years of marriage to the love of his life, Lucy Rose (Macchia) Hili, before her death December 4, 2015.

He was a store manager for J.P. Stevens & Company in Manhattan, NY, NY. Charles was a former parishioner of St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church, Woodside, Queens, NY and then a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Millersville.

Charles was a religious, kind and generous man. He had a dry sense of humor and could always make you laugh.

He enjoyed gardening, Country music, trips to Atlantic City and playing the Lottery. Charles and Lucy loved traveling to Malta to visit family. He was always there to help his family and drive Lucy, “Miss Daisy”, wherever she needed to go. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant so much to Charles.

Charles is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann, wife of Vincenzo Landi of Millersville and Catherine, wife of Anthony Grimaldi of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Julianne, wife of Joe Maiorino, Anthony Landi, Joseph Grimaldi and Kristen Grimaldi and two great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Vincenzo Maiorino. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul Hili.

A Private Christian Prayer Service and entombment at Conestoga Memorial Park will take place at the convenience of Charles’s family. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne’s Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512.
