Gary L. Himelwright, Sr., 70
Gary L. Himelwright Sr., 70, of Landisville, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Linda (Horn) Himelwright of Landisville, and the son of the late Paul E. Himelwright, Jr. and Dorothy Mae (Hubbs) Himelwright.
Gary was employed as a machinist by RCA for 25 years, and then worked 16 years for Thompson Corp.
He was a member of the Robert A. Lamberton Lodge #487 F&AM, Lancaster, and was the director of Conestoga Sertoma Midget Football and Junior Tornadoes for a total of 42 years. He was also a member of AMVETS Post #19 and the Riverside Camping Association.
He was a US Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by two sons: Gary L. Himelwright, Jr. and Keith A. Himelwright, both of Lancaster; two stepdaughters: Kimberly McNeill of New Holland and Tammy Gustafson of Landisville; a stepson, Douglas Gibbs, Jr. of Lancaster; a sister, Annette Richner of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul E. Himelwright III.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 7, 2013 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John United Methodist Church Cemetery, Paradise. Please omit flowers.
