L. Mott Holt
L. Mott Holt, 59, of Kailua, Hawaii, formerly of Lancaster, PA died on Monday, October 16th, 2006 at his home. Mott was born in Danville, PA on February 14, 1947 to the late Jeanne (Richardson) Holt and Frederick Guy Holt. He was the husband of Cassia (Ritchie) Holt. Together they celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary this year.
Mott was a 1965 graduate of Manheim Township High School and Temple University in 1969. Mott worked in real estate in Lancaster for many years and then as a general contractor in Hawaii after moving there in 1986 with his wife and children. In the last few years he was the business manager for his and his wife Cassia’s Medical Case Management business.
Mott had juvenile diabetes since age 10 and suffered with cardiovascular complications but he continued to enjoy his family, his dog Kona, playing golf and he remained positive and good-humored to the end. He firmly believed that life had nothing to do with things, but everything to do with people. Mott died peacefully at home while sleeping.
He will be lovingly missed by his daughter Amy (Holt) Arakaki of Washington married to Terrance Arakaki and by his son Fred Holt of Hawaii. He will also be missed by his three grandsons, Robbie Holt, Joshua and Daniel Arakaki. He is also survived by three brothers, Philip Holt of Lancaster, Dave Holt (husband of Sarah Holt) of Lancaster and Tom Holt (husband of Melissa Holt) of Chapel Hill, NC. Funeral services will be held in Hawaii this week.
