Edna W. Hoover
Edna W. Hoover, 101, formerly of Lancaster, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Moravian Manor. She was born in Ambridge, PA, to the late Andrew and Julia Mirth Augustine. Her husband Vernon E. Hoover died in 1988.
Edna graduated from Ambridge High School and Duffs Iron City College. Along with her husband she owned and operated Hoover Dry Cleaners in Lancaster. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Cheerful and optimistic, Edna was fond of her family, church visitors, animals and Wilbur Buds. She loved her home at Moravian Manor.
Edna’s family includes her daughter Judy, wife of Michael Chuhran, Lancaster, grandchildren, Larissa, wife of Lt. Ryan Chevalier, Mystic, CT and Dr. Craig, husband of Rita Chesterton Chuhran, Allentown, and her great-grandchildren Emilia and Elek Chuhran. Her siblings, Celia Muhlbacker, Anna Tait, Bertha Augustine, Edward Augustine and Hilda O’Keefe preceded Edna in Death.
A Visitation from 10-11 AM and the Funeral at 11 AM will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with The Rev. David Kreider officiating. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA 17603 or Moravian Manor, 300 W. Lemon St., Lititz, PA 17543. Went over to church this morning only to find it totally in darkness – checked whole perimeter….after 20min. decided to leave. Our message from Coterie had not noted date unfortunately. Dick and I are leaving town for few days tomorrow; so I will not be able to attend on Saturday. Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with you & entire family…..God bless you all…….I’m sure Mom is
with Dad now.

Aunt Edna will be missed by all. She was a great person and a terrific pie baker. Her Pecan pie was fabulous. Barb and I are out of town. Mom would have loved to come but it is too hard for her to leave the assisted living facility. All three of us send you our love and deepest support.
