Patricia D. Jachimowicz, 86

December 29, 2022

Patricia D. “Pat” Jachimowicz, 86, of Manheim and formerly of Shavertown, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Born in Haverford, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mable (Myers) Dean.

Pat was a graduate of Haverford High School. She attended the Millersville State Teacher’s College and graduated in 1958 with her Bachelor’s in education. Pat absolutely adored working with children, and spent most of her career as an elementary school teacher in northeastern PA. She always said it was the one job that made her laugh every day. Pat also loved cooking, but especially eating what she cooked, enjoying “every last morsel.” In her leisure, Pat often birdwatched, read books, and watched any sporting event – always cheering on her Yankees and Steelers.

Pat is survived by 4 children: Valerie Jachimowicz (Bruce Amos), Christopher Jachimowicz (Becky), David Jachimowicz (Gina), and Diane Kennedy (Rob); sister Diana Lyon; 5 grandchildren: Brittani, David, Audrey, Jordan, and Brynne; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sienna, Gemma, and Laszlo. She was predeceased by her sister, Marjory Appleby.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Pat’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. To leave an online condolence, visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.

Condolences to the Family

Condolences to Pat’s family….I went to high school with Pat at HHS and have fond memories of our times together, especially as sorority sisters!  We reconnected in the past two years and looked forward to meeting up when she moved to Manheim.  We are in Honey Brook now.  Another classmate saw Pat’s obit last week and brought it to our attention.  We are deeply saddened with the news of her passing and that we couldn’t meet as we had hoped. I had the pleasure of knowing, and working with Pat for the last 16 years. She was an absolute joy and I will fondly remember all of our conversations and laughter. She had a way about her that made you feel at ease and that you were always a friend. I can easily see why she chose teaching as a career. She was a keen observationist, amd would spot all of the unusual quirks of things. I will truly miss her and my deepest condolences to her family.

Mrs.Jachimowic  was my 4th grade teacher at White Oak Elementary School. She was a kind and loving teacher, who inspired me to pursue a career in education. Rest in peace Mrs. Jach. You were the best!! Pat Beard Yeager

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Pat. What a special woman that I had the pleasure of connecting with as her hairstylist. She keeps me on my toes, provided great laughter and will truly be missed. God bless, protect and give the family strength through their loss of a loved one ♥️

I am so so sorry for your loss. I reconnected with Pat last summer at the Subaru car dealership and previously at our church’s bible study. She always made me laugh and I will certainly miss her.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of your mother Pat Jachimowicz.  She was a great lady and a force to be reconed with as a valued member of our Luzerne/Wyoming Chapter of PASR.  She has been greatly missed since her move to Manheim.  May she rest in peace, God speed.  Fly high Pat, you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
