Richard B. “Dick” Kauffman, 96

September 26, 2023

Richard B. “Dick” Kauffman, 96, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Orion and Lena (McCoy) Kauffman. He was married for 55 years to the late Mary A. (Bechok) Kauffman before her passing.

Dick worked as a Production Planner for New Holland Machine for years before his retirement in 1994. He and his wife were both charter members at New Life Assembly of God. One of his favorite things to do was visit dementia and Alzheimer’s patients at nursing homes to listen to their stories and make them laugh. He was known for his wicked sense of humor.

Dick is survived by his children, Wendy (Brian) Albright, and Douglas Kauffman; his granddaughter, Nadine Richter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary A. Kauffman; and siblings, Kenneth Kauffman, Jeanne Kettering, and Mollie Hollinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s name to the Missions Fund at New Life Assembly of God, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602 or through the following link: https://newlifelancaster.org/give/.

Friends a family will be received from 10AM to 11AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at New Life Assembly of God, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 11AM with Rev. Stanley Williams Officiating.

I worked with Dick, many years ago at New Holland. I remember he was very good at his job and was fun to work with. May he rest in peace and prayers to his family.
