William “Bil” Patrick Keane, 72

April 10, 2014

William “Bil” Patrick Keane, 72, of Leola, passed away on April 10th surrounded by family.

Born and raised in San Francisco, he was the son of the late William Patrick, Sr. and Ella Keane and the husband of Kay Keane with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Bil moved to the East Coast to work for Columbia Records and spent years helping to promote the careers of such prominent artists as The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Johnny Mathis, Waylon Jennings, Paul Simon and Tony Bennett, among others. He very happily spent the last years of his working career with The Conestoga Valley School District from which he retired. Bil also devoted many years in support of the 521 Club of Lancaster. He spent his retirement enjoying his family and his devoted dog, Liam. He was a true patriot and defender of The Constitution.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Kaylyn Keane, Brooklyn, NY and Keri Keane, Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Tor and Liv Sandsmark, Brooklyn, NY; his son-in-law, Dag Sandsmark, Brooklyn, NY and his twin sister, Barbara Samuels, Folsom, CA.

No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy or Lancaster County SPCA.

Condolences to the Family

May 05, 2014

My name is Dave Curry. I am sorry to read about Bil’s passing. He and I were friends at The 521 Club. Bil always had time for a chat with me and I appreciated his insight and wit. I have not seen him in some time but think of him frequently when scrolling through my phone list.

Please accept my sincerest condolences. I am thankful I got to know Bil and feel a loss knowing that he has left this world.
Warmly,
David Curry
