Fred, Sarah, family…

This to acknowledge our deep disquiet and somber sadness given the loss of precious Harriet.  These words by Helen Keller:  “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.  All we love deeply becomes a part of us.”

May you find comfort in the myriad moments you devoted love, care, support…to Harriet in the joys and challenges of life.

Our love…

Harriet and I were roommates at Ohio Wesleyan for three years. We were bridesmaids in one another’s weddings and have kept in touch via letters, phone calls, visits, and emails over the years. When Harriet and Bud lived in Greenville, my husband and I would stop in to see them en route to Florida and it was always as though we’d never been apart. Harriet was always such a delight to be with. Her squeaky laugh never changed and I can hear it in my memory as I write this. I will miss that lovely lady and am so glad for the times we had together.

Dear Family of Harriet,
I remember Harriet well from many years ago here in Lancaster, both from Junior League and a tennis group.  We shared a love of teaching young children, and I admired her warmth and sincerity.  How wonderful to have had Harriet in your lives!  Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
