Richard P. Krause, 76

Richard P. Krause, 76, of Lititz, PA, passed away on June 17, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Lenhartsville, PA, he was the son of the late Owen & Catherine (Kratzer) Krause.
While still in high school, Richard enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. Richard graduated from Emmaus High School in 1958 and entered active duty after graduation. He proudly served for 22 years, retiring in July 1979.
Richard married Patricia (Szukics) Krause in May 1963. They celebrated their 54th anniversary earlier this year. In addition to his wife, Patricia, Richard is survived by a daughter, Natalie, wife of John Dickel; a son, Scott, husband of Rose Krause; three grandchildren: Matthew Dickel, Benjamin Dickel and Owen Krause.
He enjoyed woodworking and fixing things around the house. He was a devoted husband, father and ‘Pappy’ who loved to spend time with his family. Known as an expert in numerous card and board games, he enjoyed sharing his tricks and expertise with all of his grandsons.
A viewing will take place from 10-11 AM with a Funeral Service to follow on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Richard will be laid to rest with full military honors at Memory Gardens, Ephrata. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
