Mary S. Kreider, 92

Mary S. Kreider, 92, of Lancaster and formerly of Strasburg passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home in Narvon. She was born in Strasburg to the late Adam C. and Dollie A. (Kline) Sherr.

Mary was preceded in death by two husbands Vernon Kreider in 1999 and Ervin C. Laukhuff Jr. in 1981.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Strasburg where she sang in the choir.

Mary was employed with several different companies throughout Lancaster County including Hubley’s Manufacturing, Widder’s Silk Mill, K-Mart & McCrory’s, Park City Mall information booth, and assisted with the census for R.J. Polk.

She was a former member of the Strasburg Seniors, Teamsters Retiree Club, AARP, and enjoyed volunteering for the Office Of Aging. Mary was well known for her jelly making and pie baking.

Surviving, two daughters, Gloria J. Sheldon, of Lancaster, Mary Louise Albright, of Swampscott, MA, three sons, Ervin C. Laukhuff III, husband of Nancy, of Lancaster, Kenneth C. Laukhuff, husband of Jodee, of Surfside Beach, SC, and son Jack Laukhuff, husband of Debra, of Landisville, 12 grandchildren, 15 grandchildren, and a brother, Charles W. Sherr, husband of Dora, of Lititz. She was preceded in death by a sister Helena E. Wenger and brother Lester L. Sherr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 441 N. George St. Millersville, PA 17551 at 11am with The Rev. David Hinkley officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday at Snyder’s from 10-11am. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
