Dear Barbie and Ken:
Your names kept my daughters smiling as they played with their Barbie dolls for a long time after they met and played with the two of you at very young ages.  You won’t remember me, but I clearly remember you and especially your mother.
Years ago, when we still lived in Ohio, my husband would come every summer to do Bob Saffle’s (your neighbor) job so that he and his family could take a vacation.  No one in Lancaster knew how to do this.  After the first year, the Saffle’s invited me and my two toddlers, Beth and Mary, to come along.  We rented their home – this was a great deal for both of us as as we got to visit an aea we had never seen before and the Saffle’s had more money for a better vacation.
During these visits, your mother was an amazing friend and help to me – shared where to go for groceries, and all the other necessities of life.  We had many laughs and just talks about life during those visits. She was very special to me.  Years later when my husband had been transferred first to Virginia, and then Pennsylvania we moved to the Lititz area.  I’m sorry to say we didn’t get together like I had hoped; however, everytime we ran into each other we would have long chats.
Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I am unable to attend the Memorial Service but will always have these wonderful memories of your mother and am sure it is your good memories that will sustain you as your mourn her passing.
Sincerely,
Gloria Anderson
