Devon Nicole Lannigan, 45, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 21st 2023. A lifelong resident of Lancaster County, she resided in East Hempfield Township at the time of her passing. Devon was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes as a child and fought an incredibly tough battle for as long as she lived.

She graduated from Conestoga Valley High School in 1995 and attended Bloomsburg University where she was an Omega Essence auxiliary member of the Omega Psi Phi. For most of her working life, Devon worked in healthcare as a medical assistant. She was most recently employed at Dermatology Associates of Lancaster. Her career will undoubtedly be remembered for her dedication, compassion, and perseverance.

Devon was deeply loved and is survived by her 3 children Brian D. Graves of Philadelphia, Deja N. Graves of Lancaster, and Brandon D. Graves of Lancaster. She is also survived by her dedicated siblings Samuel R. Lannigan of Essex Junction, VT and Justin R. Lannigan of San Juan, PR., Quincy Banks of Los Angeles, CA, Lucy Lannigan of Albany, GA, and Spencer Lannigan of Key West, FL. The family continues to be led and supported by an assembly of uncles and aunts including Gerald E. Wilson, Jr., Robert C. Wilson, Cheri Wilson, Samuel W. Wilson, Barbara Wilson, Gary Wilson and Evelyn Wilson, Albert Miller and Sandra Miller, Lorna Lannigan, Robert Lannigan and Nikki Lannigan. At the time of her passing, Devon was married to Daniel Garcia of Lancaster with whom she had a relationship spanning 20 years. Devon joins her mother Rochelle and grandmother Olive Ann Simms Wilson in a line of strong, impactful women who have all immensely benefited their communities.

I kept my childhood promise to Devon..to name my first child after her. Years passed until I found her again. To tell her. I had a son..Devon Jackson. A beautiful name, and an even more beautiful woman. She was a story I told him about his whole life and now? She will live on through him for me. My prayers to God in her name now for her family and children. May you know just how impactful she was in the short time given to her. Rest easy Devon. You are SO loved. Hope Adkins-Durante
